This Base Camp Trek lets you explore the best of the Khumbu region. Finally taking you to the footstep of Everest Base camp trek & Kala Pathar standing tall at 5545 M above sea level. The trail passes along the blooming forests of Rhododendron, giant firs. You will come across high mountain passes, remote valleys, villages, and monasteries.

World Ultimate Base Camp Trek or EBC trek can also be available for those available with less time frame but desire to see Mt. Everest from close quarters. The trip starts with the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and treks to Tengboche. Everest from the base camp we get back to Kathmandu on the flight from Lukla. Alpine flowers, stunning Buddhist monasteries, and high mountain passes are some highlights.

The trail goes by a high traverse path to Thyangboche monastery stands at an elevation of 3867m. The monastery lies on a ridge crest with superior views of the mighty Everest. Trekkers too have an opportunity to soar Kala Pattar (5550m) where an awesome image of the Himalayan giants awaits. Usually, the comeback route can be done through the Chola Pass, Gokyo, Renjo Pass, and Thame trail. This whole region offers the pleasure adventurous psyche with more magnificent mountain views. One can expect verdant forested valleys and can experience Nepalese tradition and culture. Together with Parikrama Treks, you will experience this trek from 10 -15 days.

Itinerary

01
Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)

Upon arrival meet and assist by Parikrama Treks representative. Transfer to Hotel. On the way, you can see the view of the UNESCO world heritage site Pashupatinath Temple.

City Excursion and Trek Preparation

Today you will visit some of the UNESCO-listed World Heritage sites of Kathmandu. You will have the sightseeing of Kathmandu Durbar Square. later you will also visit Pashupatinath Temple and Bauddhanath Stupa.

Later in the evening, we will have a short briefing about Everest Base Camp Lodge Trek.

Flight to Lukla (2,845m / 40 minutes), Trek to Phakding (2,610m / 4 hrs)

Today we take an early flight to Lukla and meet with the crew waiting for your arrival. We start with a descend through the lush green valley of the Everest Region. Later we will reach Phakding located at the bank of Dudh Koshi River.

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m / 7 hrs)

We start the trek to the astounding Sherpa town of Namche today. The walk today is uphill making you cover a good distance of elevation. You will come across yaks, Buddhist prayer flags, and many trekking adventurers. Later you will reach Namche, you praise the charm of the town and the Himalayan view from there more.

Acclimatization and exploration day

Today we will rest and relax our body to get prepared for hiking further higher elevation. You are free to explore this beautiful Sherpa village and its local markets. One can also hike to Shyangbohce Airstrip, Everest View Hotel, and Khumjung Village. Enjoy the view of Mt. Everest and other mountains from the Everest viewpoint. Once you return back to Namche from the hike, you will have some time to explore the charming town of Namche as well.

Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3,870 m / 7 hrs)

Today's hike is a beautiful hike as we will hike to the biggest monastery. Tengboche is the monastic village in the Everest base camp trekking trail. On the way to Tengboche, experience some of the spectacular views around. Once you reach Tengboche and check into a guest house. Later we can go and explore the monastery, learn about Tibetan Buddhism.

Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche(4,410 m / 7 hrs)

Today's trial starts with a descends to Deboche. It is a small village with Chortens and Mani stone walls and a nun monastery. Cross suspension bridge over Imja Khola (Imja Strasm) and ascend to Pangboche. It offers the towering view of Ama Dablam (the most beautiful mountain in the Everest region). Later follows upstream closer to Imja River moderate up toward Imja valley. With the confluence of the Lobuche River, we begin the last part of the day to Dingboche. It is the last Sherpa settlement with a beautiful terraced field. It has lots of stone walls to avoid barley, buckwheat, and potatoes from the cold wind and grazing animals.

Acclimatization Day

Today is the second day to get our body used o the higher elevation of the Everest region. We can take an enjoyable 3-4hr, climb to Nangkartshang Gompa. It lies north of Dingboche and offers views of Makalu (8,463m). It is also the fifth highest mountain. This place also offers awesome views of Ama Dablam and the valley floor.

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m / 6 hrs)

The trail climbs to a ridge and views of Taboche and Cholatse. Continue through yak pastures to a wooden bridge and Duglha (4,620m). The trail then ascends for an hour, up the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. On the summit is a large group of stone-pile memorials to lost Sherpas and climbers. It also affords great border views including Khumbutse, Lingtren, and Pumori. Everest lies behind the towering Nuptse and Lhotse walls. Follow the valley upstream for an hour to Lobuche.

Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,160 m) Hike to Everest Base Camp (EBC) and Back (5,364 m / 9 hrs)

Today we walk along the Khumbu glacier, the highest glacier in the world, and Changri glacier. Once you reach Gorakshep, check into a guest house and have your lunch before you hike to Everest Base Camp. Walk to the base camp of the highest mountain in the world. We will enjoy the moments there for a while and return back to Gorakshep.

Sunrise view at Kala Patthar (5,550m) Trek to Pheriche (4,230m / 8 hrs)

We wake up early morning and hike for 2-3 hours with Kala Patthar. We enjoy a sunrise view of the mountain range. From here we will see Everest (8,848m) then its surrounding vassals. It includes Pumori (7,145m), Lingtren (6,697m), Khumbutse (6,623m), Changtse (7,550m), Lhotse (8,516m) and Nuptse (7,861m). Plus Cho Oyo (8,201m) in the west and Ama Dablam to the south. It is amidst countless other peaks that crowd the horizon in all directions. Drop back to Gorak Shep for breakfast; then retrace your steps to Lobuche. Return to the snout of the Khumbu glacier and continue on to the village of Pheriche.

Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 9 hrs)

Today’s trail descends to Debouche, rises through rhododendron forest to Tengboche. A long descent leads back to Phunki Thenga before the climb to Sanasa (where the trail forked to Gokyo). The walk along the broader trail to Namche Bazaar is easy.

Trek from Namche to Lukla (2,845m / 9 hrs)

The next morning we head for Lukla. In the end, we spend more time descending this day. During this day we see many new groups on the trail heading out to Namche. Later we will reach Lukla for our night stay and celebrate the ending of the trek.

Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu (1350 m / 40 min)

Today we wake up early morning to take a flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, the rest of your day is free to do your own things.

Free Day in Kathmandu.

Today is an extra day for us to enjoy a visit to Kathmandu. You could do some last-minute shopping and packing.

Here’s a complete rundown of what to bring if you’re planning a trek to Everest Base Camp or any other tea-house trek in Nepal.  Proper preparation and equipment for the conditions will go a long way to ensuring you have a great trekking experience.  What follows is a pretty comprehensive list and will make sure you are covered in the coldest months of the year. If you have questions on what you might need just ask us and keep in mind that Kathmandu is a great place to buy trekking gear at affordable prices.


IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS AND ITEMS

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds or Euros in cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
  • Credit cards, Bank/ATM/Cash machine cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines (bring a photocopy of your cards), traveler's checks, etc.
