ANNAPURNA MARDI HIMAL TREKKING IN NEPAL - HIGH LOW CAMP TREK IN ANNAPURNA

Mardi Himal High Low Camp trek is a unique Himal trek. This trek takes us to the wild areas of the periphery of the Annapurna Mountain Range. This trek is a combination of easy peak climbing with the value of cultural heritage experience. If you are among the nature lover and want people to get going with the environmental protection trek. This is the most awaited trek available in the Annapurna Region. This trek is most ideal for those people who want to get the most out of their short and easy trek and explore virgin off the beaten trail in Nepal.

Mardi Himal High Low Camp trek goes through easy terrain and best trek to get back your physical health back to normal. This trek goes through the settlement of different ethnic groups, paddy fields, and some lovely streams. The trial also offers a magnificent view of Fishtail, Annapurna, Annapurna South, and many more in the Annapurna range. Annapurna View Point Trek trek through tiny mountain villages like Ghorepani, Ulleri, and Ghandruk seem to have come right out of the picture postcards. Apart from this you also get to see two of the world’s highest mountain peaks, Mt. Annapurna (8,091m) and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m).

Furthermore, this Mardi Himal High Low Camp trek is best for a beginner to get a grip on the scene. This trek gives you an opportunity to explore the different kinds of vegetation in the area. You will also get a glimpse of the local culture and the lifestyle of the people. This Annapurna viewpoint Trek is also known as Ghorepani/ Poonhill trek. This trek is a short one but is one of the great Mountain Viewpoints in the world.

This off-the-beaten trek starts at Suiket Phedi and climbs up to Dhampus with stunning views of Machhapuchare (6997m) and the Annapurna Mountain Ranges. This is truly a private trail, which is unique as 75% of the trekkers visit the Annapurna regions yet you will not encounter any other trekkers on this trek for six days. The first few days are uphill as the trek winds along the ridge through forests of birch, rhododendrons, hemlock, and pines and finally, brings you right in front of Machhapuchare and Annapurna South and Mardi Khola winding its way through the valley thousands of feet below.

Itinerary

01
Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival meet and assist by Parikrama Treks representative. Transfer to Hotel. ON the way enjoy the view of the Hindu Religious Pashupatinath Temple.

Fly or drive to Pokhara. Trek to Dhampus

We take a scenic flight to Pokhara. Later take a drive to Nayapul and trek to Dhampus.

Trek with the stunning views of MOuntains

We wake to the stunning view of Machhapuchhare (23,000 ft/6993 m) and the Annapurna Mountain ranges. Today we will start following "Our Private Trail" leaving other tourists behind. We won’t be seeing any tourists for 6 days. The next days uphill we trek along the ridge which will finally bring us in front of Machhapuchhare and Annapurna south. Today we enter a beautiful forest of birch, rhododendrons, hemlock, and pines. We camp in a small clearing far from the main trekking trails.

Trek to Low Camp

This day we trek through the forest, climbing gradually. Every now and then we have a view of Machhapuchhare and the Annapurna’s. We can see the Mardi Khola river winding its way through the valley thousands of feet below. We camp at 10,000 ft at "Low Camp", from where we will have a good view of Machhapuchhare.

Trek through the forest area

Just a short climb and we are out of the forest. The ridge will take us to our campsite at 12,000 ft. The sunset turns the hills and mountains of the Himalayas pick. Finally, purple before the stars take over and we get ready for an early night.

Trek to High Camp

Have an early breakfast and we start trekking to reach our highest point of the trek. If conditions are favorable we will reach up to 15,000 /16,000 ft. In the afternoon we return to our camp. If the weather is clear, the view today will never be forgotten.

Trek to Mardi Khola Camp

After breakfast, we descend 7,000 ft mainly through forest, bush and terraced fields. We ten pass the hillside village of Siding, down to Mardi Khola for a welcome swim and scrub up near our camp.

Trek to camp near Mardi Pul

Beautiful walk through the Mardi Khola valley via quiet settlements and over an interesting section of bridges. We camp by the river near Mardi Pul.

Drive to Pokhara

Today we descend downhill to catch a jeep waiting for us. We take a drive back to Pokhara.

Drive or flight to Kathmandu

Today we can take a drive back to Kathmandu. If we take a flight we can explore around Pokhara. Later we catch a flight back to Kathmandu.

Final Departure

Explore around Kathmandu before you catch a flight to the next destiatnion.

Here’s a complete rundown of what to bring if you’re planning a camping or tea-house trek in Nepal. Proper preparation and equipment for the conditions will go a long way to ensuring you have a great trekking experience.  What follows is a pretty comprehensive list and will make sure you are covered in the coldest months of the year. If you have questions on what you might need just ask us and keep in mind that Kathmandu is a great place to buy trekking gear at affordable prices.


IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS AND ITEMS

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds, or Euros in cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
  • Credit cards, Bank/ATM/Cash machine cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines (bring a photocopy of your cards), traveler's checks, etc.
