Pikey Peak Trek with Dudh Kunda via Phaplu is the newly opened trekking destination in Solukhumbu region. Located in the solu region it is one if the tallest hill consisting of 13,500 feet entwines with the Chyabe across east to west. The name Pikey is derived for the name of a Sherpa Clan deity. This peak offers majestic views of the Everest Himalayan Range and Numbur Chuli.

Hiking Pikey Peak trek with Dudh Kunda via Phaplu is most popular for its sunrise and sunset views and one can take pleasure in the magnificent sight of the peaks beyond the Kathmandu Valley to the plains along with the Himalayan range of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjungha, Annapurna, Gauri Shankar, Lhotse, Lhotseshar, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Numbur, Khatang, Karyalung, Shishapangma, Mera Peak and Thamserku. This trekking has to be organized as camping style however also small lodges and the possibility of home stay has started on this route.

The month of July is a time of great celebration as the locals worship their clan god, the eastern Chyabo Pikey, as Pikey Hlapchen Karbu in the celebrations.  This is a trail through Jiri-Chaulakharka-Ngaur- to reach the Pikey Daanda (Hill) area. Another trail leads from Pikey Daanda to Phaplu through Paanch Pokari and Tamakhani located north east from the district Center Salleri. Pikey Peak trek with Dudh Kunda via Phaplu is one of the popular trekking trails in Everest region, probably one of the lower places to see the Mt. Eerest 8848m. Pike trekking is popular for the wonderful Himalayan scnery including the Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Gaurishanker, Mt. Numbur, Mt. Kantega, Mt. Thamserku, Mt Karylung as well as Rhododendron flower, Magnolia, wild orchid.

During the festival season in July or August thousands of devotees walk to the lake performing cleansing ritual at its sacred lakes from the village of all around Solukhumbu region.  If you’re looking for a short trek in the Everest region near Kathmandu, this is a great (less discovered) route. If you’re feeling very fit or are just short on time, this can be done in 3-4 days. But, a more leisurely 6-day trek allows for a physical workout without the stress, and a chance to visit a number of Buddhist sites (monasteries, gompas, and stupas).
