Makalu High passes trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations that are organized in the protected areas of Makalu Barun National Park and conservation project. Mt. Makalu 8463 M is also known as the fifth highest mountains in the world and offers an exceptional opportunity to explore the high-altitude terrains, snow clad landscapes and ethnic Himalaya’s lifestyle while following the trail of Makalu Base camp. This region is one of the restricted region under the agreement between the government of Nepal and China and required special permits for one to travel.

Makalu High Passes trek spans five major ecological zones where can be found the lush off tropical Arun Valley, dense forest of rhododendrons and fir and alpine meadows that lead to the mighty Barun Glacier. This trail rises from 850 m to 5000 m in your time span of trekking in Makula Region of Nepal.

This Makalu Base camp trek is ideal choice for the avid trekkers and nature enthusiasts who seek solace and tranquility in pristine natural habitat and wish to avoid crowds This Makalu high passes trek starts with a flight to Tumlingtar and heads to the Arun valley. Sedua, Num then crossing Shipton La Pass 4210 m gives the perfect chance to have a close look at Makalu and Chamlang Himal. On this trek you will visit the most remote and unfrequented areas of Nepal with its own wildlife vegetation and many threatened species of wild animals.
