Upper Dolpo to Jomsom Trekking let you experience remote trekking destination. It follows the trail of most popular Annapurna Circuit trekking destination. Dolpo is one of the highest inhabited plateaus in the world. Though Dolpo lies in Nepal, its people-in race, religion, and culture, are Tibetan. Their religion, culture is now taken as the best-preserved examples of Tibetan Buddhism.
Upper Dolpo to Jomsom Trekking is full of fascination to the trekkers. In fact, people living in certain pockets of the region practice Bon Po. It is actually the precursor to Tibetan Buddhism as we know it. The lower Dolpo is home to the endangered musk deer. Though rarely seen are the blue sheep, the Himalayan black bear, snow leopard. Himalayan wolf is also found in this part of Dolpo.
We start our Upper Dolpo to Jomsom Trekking from Juphal. After two small flights to Nepalgunj on the first day and to Jumla on the second day. The route goes through the high and remote alpine area and passes. Finally, we come to beautiful Shey Phoksundo Lake (3600m). This trek crosses more than eleven mountain passes, seven of them higher than 5,000 m. This trekking tour is one of the best that one can offer out in the whole of the Himalayas. From here we will trek via Numala and Bagala pass. Finally, we will reach Upper Dolpo, Do Tarap, the beautiful village of this region. Trekking to Charkha is the most listed place as the most beautiful village of high altitude. We cross the Sangda La, the highest pass of this trek then we will trek further to reach Jomsom.
