Ama Dablam climbing Expedition is one of the beautiful mountain expedition that takes you the altitude of 6,812 M. Popularly knowns as the “Matterhorn of the Himalayas” this overwhelming ice-coated granite pyramid of Ama Dablam dominates the sky above the traekker’s trail. This climbing expedition likes in the trail to Everest Base Camp. Ama Dablam is also known as the Mother’s necklace as its long ridges on each side shows the affection of Mother protecting her child on a hanging glacier.
Ama Dablam was first climbed on 13 March 1960 by Mike Gill (NZ), Barry Bishop (USA), Mike Ward (UK) and Wally Romanes (NZ) via the Southwest Ridge. They were well-acclimatized to altitude, having wintered over at 5800m near the base of the peak as part of the Silver Hut Scientific Expedition of 1960-61, led by Sir Edmund Hillary. Ama Dablam is the third most popular Himalayan peak for permitted expeditions. The most popular route by far is the Southwest Ridge. Climbers typically set up three camps along the ridge with camp 3 just below and to the right of the hanging glacier.
Ama Dablam Climbing Epedition is a 30 days climbing beginning from Kathmandu and fly to Lukla following Everest Trail. The standard ascent of Ama Dablam is made via the South-Western ridge followed by Ward (UK), Bishop (USA) and Gill (NZ). This route offers a varid and sustained climb with a seasonable level of difficulty. A strategic points are offered by three high passes. ON this climb we follow 3 camp Camp 1 is Moderate then its get little challenging up along the narrow granite ridge till camp 2. And its start to get more technical From Camp 3, skirt around the hanging glacier or the Dablam, cross snow arête(a sharp ridge) and bergschrund (a gap or crevasse at the edge) between ice cliffs, and scale the summit. After scaling the summit, we return back to base camp
